Why a fixed estimate beats paying as you go

The most common fear during a renovation is that the final amount will end up one and a half to two times higher than quoted. With pay-as-you-go, that is exactly what happens: the estimate is open-ended, and every „unforeseen“ stage is billed separately.

What a fixed estimate is

We set the price of labour and materials before we start and lock it into the contract. After the site survey you receive a single document listing the entire scope — from demolition to the final clean-up.

The price agreed before work begins does not change along the way — with no unexpected extra charges.

Where hidden costs lurk

• Removal of construction debris and delivery of materials
• Preparatory work: levelling, waterproofing, priming
• Consumables and fasteners that cheap estimates simply „leave out“

In a fixed estimate all of these items are already accounted for. You see the final figure and the timeline in advance — and make your decision with peace of mind.
